Representing The ASP for over a decade.
Learn of the accomplishments of the ASPA, from our dedication to guiding the airline service provider (ASP) industry toward progress.
2014Since its founding in 2014, the Airline Service Providers Association has grown into a nationwide organization uniting small, medium and large airline service providers to collaborate on shared interests across United States airports.
2015Established a strong partnership with Airlines for America (A4A) through joint efforts, including co-authoring position papers to guide cities and airport authorities, aligning their advocacy to oppose overreaching labor laws, and providing education to airport administrators on inefficient regulations.
2018 & 2019Added structure to support the growth of the organization. Began representing the constiteuncy of ASPs at the Aviation Security Advisory Committee (ASAC). The committee is composed of individual members representing private sector organizations affected by aviation security requirements. The Aviation Security Stakeholder Participation Act of 2014, enacted on December 18, 2014, makes the committee permanent.
2020Successfully advocated for Air Carrier Contract Worker Support (PSP1) under the CARES Act, which required the Treasury Department to provide payments to passenger air carriers, cargo air carriers, and other contracted airline service workers. Continued its advocacy by supporting the Airline Worker Support Extension (PSP2) in the Consolidated Appropriations Act which created the Payroll Support Program Extension (PSP2) for passenger air carriers and certain contractors.
2021Championed the implementation of the Air Transportation Payroll Support Extension (PSP3) in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which provided payroll support to passenger air carriers and other contractors to continue payment of employee wages, salaries, and benefits. All three spending bills provided over $5 billion in payroll support grants for all airline serivce providers.
2023The ASPA is recognized at the LAWA Board of Airport Commissioners and commits to working together on win-win solutions.
